Florian Keil


Florian Keil is a senior scientist and project coordinator at the Institute for Social-Ecological Research (ISOE, www.isoe.de) in Frankfurt/Main, Germany.

Florian studied physics, mathematics and philosophy at Hamburg University; he holds a PhD in physics from Heidelberg University.

His expertise lies in water research (with a focus on water qual-ity and micro-pollutants), environmental policies and integrated modelling. Over the past years he coordinated a German research project which developed integrated management strategies for reducing the occurrence of pharmaceuticals in water bodies (see www.start-project.de).

He currently coordinates a follow-up project which investigates i.a. the options for introducing an environmental classification for pharmaceuticals in Germany.

Florian was co-organiser of the first international conference on Sustainable Pharmacy in Osnabrück, Germany, in 2008.
