February 2011: PILLS project works one year longer together
In September 2010, the PILLS project asked the EU Secretariat for a one-year prolongation. This was approved and the new Subsidy Contract was submitted to the Lead Partner recently. The PILLS project is very happy to be able to work until the end of 2012 together.
A prolongation was necessary, as not all PILLS actions - and here in particular the construction of the pilot plants - could be implemented as fast as originally scheduled. The reasons for this differ from partner to partner but the main reason is the longer permission phases that are caused by the competent authorities of the different partners. The permission of such pilot plants is also a new situation for them, many questions arose and some cases additional requirements had to be fulfilled there could have not been foreseen before.
